BAU 2009
- Professional as well as private audience is curious about the new concepts in 2009
- Diversity, Quality and aesthetics were in demand in all areas
- 100% recyclable mats made of aircraft tires was a popular photo object
Viernheim- Every two years, the BAU trade fair in Munich, the most important trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, takes place. This year, with over 211,000 visitors, once again a new record in the 40-year history has been noted at the fair.
Over the six days of the fair Miltex GmbH presented, together with its Belgian production company Verimpex, high quality entrance mats. “For us it was ideal to start the season with the BAU 2009,” said the managing director Andreas Felber. “No matter whether professional or private audience: The visitors were curious about our new features this year.”
And a lot has been given to the guests: For example, the issue of wear was always present. The Doormats by Miltex offer an unique exchange system: Both the needle-felt stripes and the rubber or brush deposits can be easily pulled out through the slight opening of the profiles and thus be replaced. The advantage is obvious: After several years of using, instead of buying an entirely new entrance mat system, only the stripes need to be reordered. This system is profitable for both the wallet, but also for the environment.
Another focus at the fair was on the quality and aesthetics of the mats. Felber to this: “The first impression is crucial. This is true also for the entrance into a building. Should this be dirty or wet, this is not the best advertisement.”
From this point Miltex dirt-trapping systems provide an optimal solution. Whether it is equipped with 10-year warranty, suitable for over 10,000 walk-throughs per day, or the safety of light treatment with a pressure washer: The entrance is to remain clean and in particular inviting. Whether it is snowing outside, raining or even a wheelchair is moved over it.
Besides their long live, the mats can be fitted easily to every kind of entrance. Miltex offers a wide variety of colors-, textiles-, or combinations of brushes. Even individual logos can be embedded in each project mat.
“The environment is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, we offer a very durable mat that is 100% recyclable,” said Andreas Felber on. “We use disused aircraft tires for an environmentally friendly but still very resilient mat.” Specific technologies make it possible to use these kinds of mats even on both sides. The probably most photographed object of the fair was an exhibit, which represented the individual production steps from the original tire to the finished mat.
No matter where outdoor, entrance or indoor: The Doormats of Miltex will continue to reduce cleaning costs and also contribute to an attractive interior in the future.
